I couldn't still uninstall the " Synaptics Pointing Device Driver"Īgain, I installed the new driver I had downloaded from the website and I think just the name of the " HID-compliant vendor-defined device" has been changed to " Synaptics HID Device" and the driver has been updated. So after the restart I selected "Scan for Hardware changes" again and a new device called " HID-compliant vendor-defined device" was added. Īnyway I uninstalled the " Synaptics HID Device" from "Device Manager" (not in Safe Mode) and I selected the option to delete the driver package from the system then I selected "Scan for Hardware changes" and restarted the PC. I don't know why you said "display driver" maybe because you have copied the text and pasted it here. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer. This will force the device driver to be reinstalled. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “ Scan for Hardware changes” This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. Right click on the device driver and then select "Uninstall". In the list of devices, you should see the display driver. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.

Once this is done restart the computer to check if that helps.Įnsure to install any pending updates and remember to restart the computer. You may uninstall the driver from Device Manager and click on Scan for Hardware changes for the latest default driver to get installed. Sorry to know that you are facing this issue. Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Should I uninstall the driver from Device Manager and mark "Delete the driver software for this device." and install it again ? What should I do now to get rid of this error for uninstalling the previous version and remove it from "Programs and features" ?! Now everything looks good and the Driver Version in the "Device Manager" is correct (19.0.7.33) but I still have the "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" in the "Programs and features" with the wrong version (17.0.15.0). Īfter that I also tried uninstalling the driver from "Device Manager" in Safe Mode but I didn't mark "Delete the driver software for this device." and I reinstalled it in Safe Mode too. So The second time I selected "Yes" and I think the new driver (19.0.7.33) was installed properly. īut when I want to uninstall the previous version (17.0.15.0) from "Programs and features" it says :īecause there isn't any folder called "Synaptics" in the "C:\Program Files".

I downloaded the drivers from Acer website and I Installed them but I've got a problem with "TouchPad Synaptics Driver". So apps and drivers have been deleted and settings restored. I've upgraded my laptop from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro and I've done a clean install using the "Reset this PC" option in the "Settings>Update & Security>Recovery".
